Plymouth have signed striker Jermaine Easter on loan from League Two Wycombe with a view to a permanent move.

The 25-year-old Wales international had been the subject of two bids by the Pilgrims earlier in the season.

Argyle manager Ian Holloway said: "He scored 17 goals last year, in a lower division, but we believe he will score goals at whichever level he plays.

"Hopefully, he can do it very quickly here. He will throw something different into the mix for us."

Wycombe Wanderers have re-signed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Tommy Doherty on loan until 2 January with a view to a permanent move.

The 28-year-old spent much of last season on loan at Adams Park, making 31 league and cup appearances, and was voted as Wycombe's player of the year.

"I'm sure our fans will be absolutely delighted about this signing," boss Paul Lambert told Wycombe's website.

The striker, 21, has impressed in training at City, and joint chairmen Mark Lawn and Julian Rhodes are ready to fund a move if the price is right.

Kevan, 39, leaves his job as assistant boss at Burnley, having been on their coaching staff since 2004.

Kimi Raikkonen's world title has been thrown into doubt following an inquiry into the cars of BMW Sauber and Williams at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Race stewards are investigating alleged irregularites with the cars' fuel.

Williams's Nico Rosberg was fourth in the race, followed by BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld.

If they were disqualified, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton would be promoted to fourth, giving him enough points to displace Raikkonen as world champion.

Bradford ended their five-match losing run with a hard-fought goalless draw.

City dominated large chunks of the game but solid Darlington defending and wayward finishing cost them victory.

An unmarked Barry Conlon headed a first-half Paul Heckingbottom free-kick wide Quakers keeper Andy Oakes kept out a fierce shot from Omar Daley.

Free-scoring Darlington created few chances and Bradford right-back Darren Williams blocked their best effort - a 55th-minute shot from Greg Blundell.

Former Rochdale loan player Glenn Poole came back to haunt his old side as he snatched a late point for Brentford.

The midfielder hammered in a long-range shot off the foot of the post in the 88th minute to deny Dale victory.

Glenn Murray had put the hosts ahead when he glanced in Adam Rundle's free-kick after his side had enjoyed more of the possession.

Murray was denied by keeper Simon Brown though Brentford's Charlie Ide did have a shot tipped over by James Spencer.

Bottom side Mansfield collected their first win in nine games after two goals in four minutes from Michael Boulding.

Ian McParland was taking charge of County for the first time but his team did not break through as the Stags kept their first clean sheet for 20 matches.

The deadlock was broken after 57 minutes as Matthew Hamshaw was fouled trying to turn Austin McCann and Boulding rammed in the spot-kick.

He then finished superbly after a neat flick from Simon Brown.

Stuart Drummond earned Shrewsbury a share of the points with a goal eight minutes from time at Bury.

The home side went ahead on the stroke of half-time with a Paul Scott header which crept over the line after a corner was not properly cleared.

Bury had a string of chances to add to their lead, Andy Mangan blazing the best one over the bar from five yards.

The Shrews threw everything at Bury in search of an equaliser which they found when Drummond fired in off the post.

Rotherham staged a superb second-half fightback, inspired by teenager Jamie Yates, to claim a win over Morecambe.

Morecambe took the lead on 46 minutes when skipper Jim Bentley headed in.

But David Artell hauled back Marcus Bean and Stephen Brogan equalised with the penalty before Mark Newsham squared for Yates to put Rotherham ahead.

And two minutes from time a simple tap-in gave Yates his second goal and Rotherham their third and completed the come-from-behind win.

Scott McGleish scored two and set up the other as Wycombe condemned Grimsby to a fourth consecutive league defeat.

Gary Holt took advantage of a McGleish cross to score his first Chairboys goal and give them a first-half lead.

McGleish stabbed the ball home from close range after a mistake by Grimsby keeper Phil Barnes to make the game safe with time running out.

And he scored his sixth of the season from the spot after Matt Bloomfield had been felled by Tom Newey.

Barnet moved up to fifth after exposing Wrexham's defensive frailties.

Liam Hatch opened the scoring on 58 minutes when he was left unmarked inside Wrexham's six-yard box to tap in Jason Puncheon's low cross.

The striker, who hit the bar in a dire first half, doubled the lead 10 minutes later when he benefited from a howler from home goalkeeper Michael Jones.

Eifion Williams almost pulled a goal back after a goalmouth scramble and then had a penalty shout turned down.

A late own goal from Oliver Ryan denied Lincoln their first win since August.

The Imps, who sacked manager John Schofield in midweek, made five changes and produced their best performance of the season, dominating the first half.

Ben Wright swept them ahead on the stroke of half-time after a header from Adie Moses came back off the bar.

Mark Tyler kept out Louis Dodds, who then hit the bar with the rebound, before substitute Rene Howe's cross was turned into his own net by Ryan.

Richie Partridge's excellent double handed the derby spoils to Chester.

Stockport took the lead in stoppage time when Jason Taylor's cross from the left was spilled by keeper John Danby and the ball just crept over the line.

Chester levelled it up after 53 minutes when the impressive Partridge blasted home sweetly from 15 yards.

Kevin Ellison then volleyed an effort onto the crossbar just past the hour mark before Partridge fired home from 20 yards with just nine minutes to go.

Paul Benson's second-half goal earned Dagenham a draw against Chesterfield.

The home side went ahead in the eighth minute thanks to Aaron Downes' header from 12 yards past keeper Tony Roberts.

Dagenham's equaliser came 11 minutes into the second half when Benson beat Chesterfield goalkeeper Barry Roche with a left-footed effort.

Substitute Wayne Allison came close to grabbing a winner for Chesterfield when his shot was saved by Roberts, who also denied Phil Picken in stoppage time.

MK Dons made it nine wins in a row with a narrow victory over Hereford.

Mark Wright's rising shot in the 87th proved enough, with Hereford down to 10 men after Steve Guinan had been sent off in the first half.

But the Dons had goalkeeper Willy Gueret to thank for making two excellent saves in the opening stages.

Gueret stopped a shot from teenager Theo Robinson on the six-yard line and then threw himself across the goalmouth keep out a header from John McCombe.

Accrington striker Roscoe D'Sane scored twice as Macclesfield's unbeaten away record was ended in thrilling style.

Both sides hit the woodwork in the first half before D'Sane broke the deadlock with a fine solo goal.

D'Sane set up Paul Mullin to make it 2-0 before Kevin McIntyre pulled one back for Macclesfield from the spot after Graham Branch fouled Rob Green.

Adam Murray set up Gareth Evans to nod home an equaliser but D'Sane won it for Stanley with a close-range header.
